Tariff Announcement 12.12.18

Dear Valued Customer,

Atrix has been closely monitoring the tariff announcements by the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and we are continuing to actively review our options, working toward minimizing the impact of the tariffs to our customers.

As a follow up to our October 9th letter, more details on the tariffs are as follows:

September 24th, 2018

• A product list was released that included the harmonized tariff codes for vacuum cleaners, filters, and accessories which required a 10% tariff. Due to our inventory position, we have been able to delay the immediate impact of these tariffs to our customers.

December 1st, 2018

• As a result of December 1st meetings at the G20 summit in Argentina, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to a 90 day extension to the planned January 1st tariff hike of 25%.

March 1st, 2019

• Trade negotiations need to reach a successful end by March 1st or these same products will move from the current 10% to a 25% tariff, and we will be forced to increase our prices on select items by 8-12%. If this trade dispute doesn’t get resolved before this March 1st date, we will be communicating with the specifics of our tariff price increases.

(Pricing on our USA manufactured series, Express™, Omega™, and High Capacity™, will not be affected by these tariffs.)
